Medical Art
Medical Art is a very specialised art practice. In my 32 years at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast I managed to learn much about discipline, scale, different media and how to work for other people. The daily practice in drawing and painting on a wide variety of subjects including operative surgery, diagrammatic medical procedures, pictorial communications with hospital staff and patients and even humorous anecdotes, enriched my skills in the practice of my personal art work. I would say that without this work my own experience of life and art would have been a lot poorer.
